Growing up, I remember there were always several good WWII movies on during the Memorial Day weekend. Korea was the forgotten war and Vietnam was still ongoing and, with a few exceptions, too controversial. Today, with all the cable channels available, you might find one or two movies about those who gave all in service to our country. In thinking strictly about time, we’re over twice as far from Vietnam, now, then we were from WWII, then (using 1970 as an easy reference point). Just some thoughts.
