Good day, GN. Thinking about the passage of time this morning as my father died seventeen years ago today. Hard to believe it’s been that long -- where did all those years go?
I just paid my electric bill. We’re pretty conservative when it comes to electricity and our bills used to be low. My usage for May of this year was down 4.4% from last year, but our bill is 25.25% higher. It must be that higher-quality electricity they’re delivering.
We have a choice of energy providers in our area. We use Coserve, a co-op. They make long term deals to keep prices stable and our bills are not bad, though many people using other providers have been complaining of sudden massive increases.
It is our water/sewer/garbage bill that has gone up. Last month it doubled to about $366.00. This month is a little better at about $316.00, but is still high. It usually goes down later. Water is the issue as we don’t have the river/dam system you do. Of course the greens are doing their best to destroy that for you. Most months the Coserve, gas and electricity, and the water bill balance somewhat, one being higher when the other is lower, but some months they gang up and it can hurt. Coserve was about $160.00 last time. Over all I think it is not too bad.
I keep two 100 watt equivalent lamps lit over the porch and two flood lamps on the corner, on all night. I replaced the lights with LED bulbs and I figure it costs me about $36.00 a year. Well worth it for the security. The flood lamps lit up my truck when it was parked in the driveway and puts light on my AC unit (people were stealing these for a while to get the copper.) I run them 10 or 12 hours a day.
Thread pic: Spot on.

You can track your ballot in California through a govt website. Mine was dropped at an authorized location Monday, but has yet to be acknowledged.
Are they deciding who they think you meant to vote for?
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Sven -- my father passed 15 years ago. It seems like yesterday, and forever.
I dropped off my ballot on Monday and got an email yesterday stating that it had been accepted. Why it took that long is a good question.
Well, somebody has to!

Is that why it is called “green energy?” It has more money in it?
I lost my parents in 2004. I agree about the time effect.
