I don’t know if it is faithful to the book and it has been many years since I saw it.
My favorite movie of a Twain book was Life on the Mississippi. It was another Great Performances movie from 1980. I really enjoyed it and have watched it a number of times. My copy is not high quality and I don’t see it available, but if you get a chance you might like it. It stars Robert Lansing and a number of good performances. It is kind of an autobiography story.
Good morning, GN. Happy 4th Eve!
Thanks for that, Mac -- will definitely watch it.

Found it on You-tube. Downloading it now. Not great quality but maybe better than what I have.
