I’ve been listening to Martin Cruz Smith’s Arkady Renko’s series. The first book in the series was Gorky Park, which was made into an OK movie with William Hurt in the main role. Renko is a moody Russian police investigator and Smith does a fine job describing Russia during the late last century. Worth reading/listening. Smith has a nice way with words.

A bit cooler today than last week. Got house work to do today and will continue to work on my family’s archives -- that’s turning into a more difficult project than I had anticipated, but once I get one part done the rest should come easier. Developing a new appreciation for my family -- I wish I had known them better.

Sven -- my back feels much better, thanks. The computer is proving to be a problem. I managed to copy the drive to a separate SSD, but I can’t get Windows to install from a USB boot drive. It just tells me it can’t do it. I’m borrowing a boot drive from my daughter-in-law and will see if that works. If not, I’ll have to replace the internal SSD and attempt to install Windows.
