A blessed Sabbath Gerbil Nation!

Lesson: never play Jenga with a cat.

After lots of work and wrong turns, I was finally able to start the installation of Windows on my laptop -- only to get a message saying don’t do this, the drive is about to fail. I ordered a new ssd and it should arrive sometime today.

Sounds like one thing after another -- sorry.

I’m keeping the same size, but will be adding a second SSD (2.5″) of the same capacity. The manufactured date on the laptop is at the end of 2019.

The FIFA World Cup is officially over. At least according to me. I don’t know if they have some sort of ceremony at the end, or not. We made it through with out any terrorist attacks, thankfully.

Mrs. Paddy worked for the LA Olympic Organizing Committee for the 1984 Olympics. A day or so after the closing ceremonies, there was a party for all LAOOC staff that Mrs. Paddy attended. At some point in the evening, it was announced that the left plane-load of athletes had cleared American air space. A huge cheer went up from Peter Ueberroth and Henry Usher, and the drinks flowed even more freely than before. They had successfully held the Olympic games without any terrorist attacks.

Thank God. And glad it went off without any major problems -- I figured it would be the perfect event for a 9/11 type of attack. Will you and Mrs Paddy be working on the 2028 Olympics?

Definitely not. It was a great experience for Mrs. Paddy, but without the leadership of another Peter Ueberroth, I don’t see it going anywhere near as smoothly.

LA is a lost cause. I hope Trump doesn’t step in to help them. Did you catch the videos of that busted water main in West Hollywood?

Thanks, Mac. I won’t say another snarky thing about cats ever again.

Our electricity is scheduled to go out in less than an hour, then be out until about 3 a.m. as they replace a cable. We’re going to run the A/C until the power goes out to cool the house for the evening.

See y’all tomorrow!

At least they plan to turn it back on. Good luck -- stay cool.
