Stephen A. Smith has flirted -- more or less unseriously -- with running for POTUS in 2028. I think he’s going to run, although I’m on the fence about him winning the dem’s nomination I think he’ll make an impact and he will stay in the race for quite a while.
Why?
Trump has shown that even without previous govt experience, you can still win.
Smith can talk and communicate effectively -- hell, his whole career has been talking -- and he’s been highly successful.
He’s black man. He’ll pull in that demo and men in general. He’ll probably also pull at least the black women.
There’s no downside to him if he loses. He’s got a career that isn’t going away.
He comes across now as more reasonable than almost everybody on the dem bench.
He’s willing to call out both the left and the right.
He likes a fight.
