Happy Monday, GN. Watched some of the Indy race in DC yesterday. Not a racing fan, but you have to give Trump props for pulling off another huge 250 event that teh left hates.
As a kid, I used to go to Saugus Speedway. Demolition derbys, Figure 8, and street stock. The gas station I worked in had the owners racing in both street stock demolition derbys -- fun times working on their cars.
So this is the hottest week of the year for SoCal. it will probably be the HOTTEST WEEK OF ALL TIME EVER per the media by the end of it and somehow Trump will be blamed. No wind, which is a blessing, but I expect a few major outages as the grid falls apart.
I chuckled at my friends from AZ. They tried the Phoenix area for a year, grew disillusioned and are moving to Precsott Valley north of Phoenix next year. One reason for moving is that Phoenix is too brown with no trees and they were thrilled to be back here where there are trees and “all this greenery.” My response was you lived here for more than 40 years and you know the hills are green for, if lucky, two months. Look around -- everything is brown. Well, apparently it’s greener than some parts of AZ.

As a kid, my dad would take us out to the old style dirt-track stock car races, but I never got hooked on NASCAR.
