Apparently, after a couple months of thoughtful deliberation and research, the judge has decided that the murderer of Charlie Kirk can actually be tried for murder.
I saw a video about the woman who killed her children and is claiming her hormones made her do it so she is not guilty. It pointed out that if the court finds this makes her not guilty, then this upends a hundred years of work to make women equal under the law. How could women have guns or jobs like police officer if the court accepts that her hormones can make her an uncontrolled murderer? How can the court give custody to a person that is legally recognized as being a deadly threat to her own children by the natural effects of her hormones? How can a woman sign contracts if she has no control of her actions under the law? How can companies be prevented from not hiring women if the law states she can be a deadly threat to employees, customers, and management when her hormones rage?
I do hope a little common sense prevails but the courts have not made my feel optimistic on this.
I haven’t followed this murder case much at all. However, I can see the jury having real problems with reaching a verdict and a deadlock is what I thought would happen. The problem is the “experts” and how to figure out, as a juror, which ones are correct and believable so they could make a decision.
There’s only two options here: 1) This woman is evil all on her own and murdered her children, or 2) The prescribed drugs made her do it. I don’t think anyone is really arguing that post-partum depression or psychosis led her to murder.
The Los Angeles Angels baseball team has been sold to the company that owns the Rams, the Nuggets, the Avalanche, a couple of pro soccer teams, and a bunch of stadiums. Angels fans are rejoicing. Arte Moreno bought a winning team from Disney and systematically trashed the farm system, overspent on aging players, and has ended with the worst record in baseball 2 years running. Arte Moreno’s 23 year reign of error is finally coming to an end.

Good morning, GN. Cooling off out here, which is a blessing.
In earlier days, children could have read and understood that sign and acted accordingly. Today, not so much.
Could be. It may have been said of me.
I wonder if “senile agitation” is a recognized mental disorder that could be used as extenuating circumstances to avoid criminal accountability?
Happy “Rogue” Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Students at my school start classes next week, and I’m still not sure what classes I’m going to teach. I’m starting to get used to this.
Hi, Paddy. All that uncertainty keeps you young.

You’ve been reading Candace Owens again, haven’t you, Mac?
Heh! Not for a while. I just find myself wanting to be beamed up of late.

The jury in that case is currently deadlocked. I doubt that anyone has brought up the consequences of finding her not guilty by reason of insanity.
If the defense ends up using that defense and it works, I think it will go down in history with the Twinkie defense and the Menendez orphan defense.
