Not sure why, but this song, Billy Austin by Steve Earle, was playing in my head this morning. It’s from 35 years back before Earle went hard left and his music suffered. Worth a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWhk8PfhTtg
So the Clancy jury deliberations continue -- the defense lawyer outed the reluctant juror as a man and strongly indicated that it’s 11-1 for not guilty in some fashion. All should come to a head one way or the other today.
My cousins were car wholesalers and I bought my first 3 cars through them. The paperwork was done through a guy named Harvey Rader who had a dealership in Reseda called Mr. Motor. My cousins called him “Mr. Murder” because he was suspected in the murder of a Jewish family in the SFV. The bodies were never found -- I don’t think -- but if they were found it was years later. Anyhow, they had some circumstantial evidence against him, arrested him, charged him with murder, and his first trial ended in a mistrial, 11-1 for guilty. They tried him again and the second trial ended in a mistrial as well. A third time, and he was acquitted.
In that case, the defense learned lessons; hopefully the state learned something in this case as well.
I’d place a good sized bet that the holdout juror’s identity will be leaked by tomorrow.
Happy long weekend Friday, GN.
Thread pic: Well, that’s one way of looking at cats.

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Thanks for the Steve Earle. What a talent!
I’m disappointed that so many jurors in the Clancy trial are willing to give her a pass on killing her kids. It should have been a slam dunk.
Well, a mistrial called after addl legal machinations.
I just read that. I hope the prosecution does a better job the next time around.

I’m not taking that bet!
Steve Earle was one of the first artists that me and Mrs Sven could agree on.
