Happy Sunday, GN. A change in the weather out here today with some rain and strong winds.

So far, the name of the Clancy holdout juror has not been publicly released, so I would have lost my bet.

I think that hung juries are going to become the norm going forward. When you have half the country believing in feelings and narrative while the other half believes in facts and logic, you have a disconnect that can’t be resolved by discussion and argument in the jury room.

There’s also the problem of no longer having a shared language with both sides agreeing on the meaning of words. It’s not as bad as having six jurors who only speak and understand Spanish and six jurors that only speak and understand English, but it’s moving in that direction.

So it goes.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Sven -- I’m afraid you’re right. I’m also afraid that it is going to take a long while to bring our society back to a point where we evaluate things through facts and logic, then temper our opinions through compassion.

Hi, Paddy -- coupled with a complete lack of trust -- and this is where “both sides” is a legitimate descriptor -- in the judicial system, I don’t see it getting better incrementally. Our principles are sound, but its execution is flawed.

Rented a decent movie last night: The Death of Robin Hood starring Hugh Jackman who did well in that role. it’s not a cheery movie, but watchable.

He does a good job -- it reminded somewhat of Sean Connery in Robin and Marian. Which reminds me an old joke:

Whose Maid Marian?
Everyone.

Mel Gibson would have fit right into this role, too.
