Speaking of crows, Mrs Sven is having a rodent problem in her Jeep’s engine compartment. Set a rat trap with bit of peanut butter under the hood -- not much room there for anything but didn’t want put the trap on the driveway in case it catches something it shouldn’t -- and killed a good sized rat. Tossed his carcass down the hill a bit and a crow picked it up.
My first question was whether or not that was a gopher snake, then I zoomed in on the photo and saw the head shape. Yep, definitely a rattlesnake. It may have been looking for it’s intended dinner good friend the rat.
BTW, I mentioned leaving Mrs. Paddy’s car in the driveway for a couple of nights and she reminded me of how the rats like to chew on her car’s wiring harnesses, while ignoring mine.

An unwelcome visitor -- we lost track of it while looking for a shovel. Think it went into the park in back of us. 3.5 to 4 feet long.
Wow! What type, if you can tell? If not dangerous it might help with the vermin problem?
Clearly a rattlesnake -- had 4-5 rattles on its tail and the correct markings.
