The one I have, and if Paddy bought the same one, is battery. They are handy and cheap enough. They won’t do big jobs, but I am surprised at how well they do.
I used to have a corded electric chainsaw with a 14″ bar. It was actually slower than the small cordless one I now have. As a result, it wasn’t able to handle the bigger jobs and was too unwieldy for the smaller ones.

I picked up a small chainsaw like Sven got. It has turned out to be incredibly handy.
Forty plus years ago I had a small gas chainsaw and I do remember it being more useful than I expected.
