Sven -- I hope you are feeling better this morning and your eye is healing.
Both Mrs. Paddy and her sister visited the mom last week (separate visits). One meeting went well, the other not so well. She seems to be slowly adjusting to her new living arrangement, is eating well and exercising, but doesn’t look happy in the pictures we’ve seen. All-in-all, she’s doing better not as well as we hoped, but better than we feared. Meanwhile, Mrs. Paddy is wondering at the time she now has for other things, as she is no longer taking care of her mom.
Good morning, Paddy. Glad to hear that your MiL got moved to safer accommodations and that she isn’t doing too bad. The first couple of weeks after I moved my father out he had trouble adjusting and more than a bit of anger, but eventually he accepted it in some form and was OK. It just takes time -- you guys made the right decision.
Got through last night without an eye incident and it feels better today. Cornea abrasions/tears are supposed to heal up in 24-48 hours -- in a normal person -- so I may be out of the woods as far as this one goes. Lot of ointment, drops, and such.
Mrs Sven dug up an old email that I sent to her 1/25/2017 that linked to something Ace put up about Trump and I included some of its highlights:
“I have no personal investment in Donald Trump. He is a tool to punish the left and roll back their ill-gotten gains, no more and no less. If he succeeds even partially in those two things, then I’ll consider his election a win.”
“Further, I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I’ll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.”
“This new philosophy has freed me of more emotional angst that I can describe. Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don’t care about their tantrums. I don’t care about their accusations. I don’t care if they say Trump is lying. I don’t care if Trump is lying.”
The subject line of my email was “A fair assessment of where I am” and her response today was “Ayup -- the more things change the more they stay the same.”
