Huh..apparently it’s the feline version of “Shark Week” here at Teh Squeak. 🙂
Wonder how many signatures the CA SecState will ultimately certify re Mr. HairGel’s recall. I suppose we’ll find out…
I’ll also be curious to learn the final results of the Maricopa Cty. (AZ) ballot audit when they’re finished.
(Of course, I’ll be skeptical re both those items, no matter what the “official” findings are, since last November’s election demonstrated that very few officials across our land give a carp about clean, transparent elections. Criminy.)
Was amused to see the low numbers for the Oscars. It is my hope that Hollywood, along with the NBA, NFL and MLB are finally starting to circle the drain.
Which still leaves us with an out-of-control gummint, but baby steps, I suppose.
Also glad to see that ammo is slowly becoming more available. 👿
I think the odds of Newsom actually being recalled are low, but you never know what can happen between now and then to swing it either way. Fires, a surge in the Chinese flu, teachers refusing to go back to their schools…
Been reading about John Kerry snitching out the Joooooos to Iran. Whether true or not doesn’t matter -- no such presumption of innocence was afforded to Trump or anyone else in his administration.
Reminder: Biden took Arizona and its 11 EVs by 10,457 votes. I’m not thinking that the audit will be able to overturn that number, but I am quite interested in them finding discrepancies showing fraud.

“I know that you all have arrogant smug fucking editors, pompous ass editors, who write your headlines for you sometimes, and you know, some of the other fake bullshit that goes in there. Fuck the Las Vegas Journal. Fuck them,” White said.
On Instagram, White did more crushing. Enjoy this, as well:
“Hey Las Vegas, this is our piece of sh*t local newspaper. Through this entire pandemic, we didn’t lay off a single employee. We worked with governmental agencies in Nevada and around the world to put on every event safely, and we chose to bring our biggest fight of the year with Conor McGregor back to town July 10th to help relaunch the city. Yet, this is how the Las Vegas Review Journal shows its support for a true local business. Go f*ck yourself LVRJ, and don’t bother coming to the fight in July.”
Happy unHappy Kitteh Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
In re the recall: now begins the 30 day period when people who signed the recall petition can ask to have their name removed. I wonder how many people will “ask” and how many of them will know that they asked?
Related to Dana White’s rant: I heard yesterday that the number of people who caught COVID from commercial air travel was 1 in 22,000,000 -- far less than the odds of being struck by lightning. It appears that with screening and proper air filtration and circulation, these are safe activities. There’s no reason to have shut down the entire economy, other than to destroy it.
Thank you, Paddy. It is nice, though it is hard to adjust to the activity after a quiet house for two weeks plus. She was a big help to her sister and their family.
Good morning Gentle Gerbils. Noticed at about 3 AM this morning as I was going to bed that the AC was not keeping up, it was several degrees hotter than it was set for. Everything is running but it is just not working well, it is cooler outside this morning than inside. It went out last year in June, just as Elena came home from the hospital after her knee surgery. The guy got us running by replacing the capacitors outside but the coolant needed about three pounds added. He said he thought there was a leak upstairs. It is past the point many have been replaced so I expect that is what happened again. I have used thie same company several times and they are good and honest, they have saved us thousands of dollars. It is good to have someone I trust. They will come tonight between 4 and 7 PM so that is better than last time. Last year was in a heat wave and all techs were crazy busy and the house was very hot for poor Elena. We are in better shape to deal with a replacement cost now so I feel lucky. Some of our neighbors who’s houses were built after ours have had to have their units replaced years ago so I can’t complain. I do hope the whole system does not need replacement. I don’t think it will be that bad.
Yes Sir. It is common to run the AC at night, even during thunderstorms. The AC is in use much of the year. After ten or twelve years many need work. They are nice houses but not everything is top drawer. But as I said, they get used a lot here.
Well, the tech found the AC problem, one wire from the compressor capacitor had about 2″ vaporized. He replaced capacitor and wired and system ran and worked, but it is leaking some and it is drawing high amps so I don’t want to get into summer like this, so I am getting all new system installed tomorrow. It is a better and more capable system than the original, and the price seems good. The work today would have been about $350.00 but that will go away with the purchase of the new system. The AC system has been kind of hanging over my head for several years now and like the new fence, this should be a relief. I guess Elena’s new car gets moved back a bit more.
2″ of vaporized wiring? That’s indicative of a serious problem. The high current draw says the problem still exists. Good decision to replace the system, Mac. As you said, you don’t want to go into summer with a dodgy AC.
I have been using this company for many years here and they have helped me out of jams several times and always been fair and honest. Their advice and predictions have always been sound. I have pushed them to charge more on two occasions, the last time just last year.I am looking at $7,600 for a 3.5 Ton 16 SEER Lennox system, that will include all little extras and a ten year warranty on parts. I was just reading that prices are supposed to go up soon and this will be a better system than we had. I am no expert but when he gave me prices on two brands and two levels of system I thought it was a good deal. It is the higher level Lennex for the same price as the lower level American Standard. They will be replacing, upgrading, or adding several items and including it in the charge. It should be more effecient and trouble free. Elena’s sister had to replace both her systems last year and while expensive it has reduced her electric bill significantly.

Thread pic = lack of situational awareness
Hi Fatwa -- yeah, baby steps.

I’ve heard a few clips from Dana White; enough to know I like his attitude.

I’m sure the fact of the great economy making it so hard to call Trump’s administration a failure was just an unrelated coincidence.
Good morning, Mac!
I’m sure you’re right.
I’m sure it’s nice to have Little Mouse home again.
Thank you, Paddy. It is nice, though it is hard to adjust to the activity after a quiet house for two weeks plus. She was a big help to her sister and their family.

I hope it’s a relatively inexpensive fix.
Two things about your post struck me:
B. how little it cools down in TX at night (your AC was on at 3 AM).
Yes Sir. It is common to run the AC at night, even during thunderstorms. The AC is in use much of the year. After ten or twelve years many need work. They are nice houses but not everything is top drawer. But as I said, they get used a lot here.
Hey Mac! Our unit is pretty old as well and evidently leaks a bit. I’m not sure how long it will last and when we’ll need to replace it.
I have the feeling that Biden likes wearing a mask and will continue to do so for the entire length of his presidency.
Sooo, six more weeks?
Who knows? It’s already lasted longer than I thought.
Hey, Jerry!
How’s the home(s) search?

Without the discount this system would be about $8,900.00.
Also, the old system uses an old coolant that is getting very expensive and restricted.
