Do you recall the early 60’s teevee series Mchale’s Navy with Ernest Borgnine? Or Hogan’s Heroes? We were not allowed to watch either as my father was angry that they showed the Japanese and Germans as bumbling clowns instead of what they really were.
Happy Friday, GN. Good luck with the new washer, Mac, and I hope the doctor appointments went well. I need to go out and pick up a new microwave oven this weekend. This one, a Panosonic countertop model, lasted 15 years without any trouble, but gave up its ghost the other day. They’ve definitely gone up in price.
Good luck, Sir. I suspect that will be next for us. It is a built in over the stove. I don’t like that but Elena does not want to lose the counter space, so…
Both shows came out 20 years or less after the end of WWII. It would be like a comedy today based on 9/11. On the other hand, we won WWII so maybe that’s the difference.
I put up a new poster on the wall in front of my desk that says “You have one job which is to stay employed. Adjust and control yourself accordingly.” In smaller print I added “Save the eff yous for when you can safely quit.” Now I’ll see if I can live up to that.
Except for a short period of time, I haven’t liked my job at teh bestest place ever. Now though I’m beginning to actively hate it working under my new boss.

I did not watch either program. It was largely for that reason, plus that humor just did not appeal to me.
