Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Saturday salutations from Happy Larryville, GN!

Mac --

For some reason, the loading of teh weekend seems to be stalled on my ‘puter; guess it doesn’t like Apple Macs. 😉

Sven --

Must commend your rant from last night again; hope that you’ve posted at other sites you frequent ’cause it’s that good.

Teh authorities in Chicago found a rather large outdoor pot farm on the South Side:

Aside from amusing me, I pondered how much of that sort of thing is happening in Detroit. (Which, if the MI state gummint had any common sense, they’d quickly amend their laws to encourage similar, erm, entrepreneurs. Except they’d probably wind-up with unionized pot farmers producing ditch weed…which would then get a federal bailout.)

Good morning,

Glad you guys liked my rant from yesterday. After I posted it, I was thinking there was so much more to include like the Colorado Dems belittling rape victims, Fast and Furious, the gun nut ricin threats that weren’t, etc.

Another beautiful day out here with temps maybe hitting the low 80s. If only summer could be this way.

I see that only 47 Senators bothered to attend Thursday’s briefing with Clapper. Alexander and other officials re the NSA’s snooping.

Fuck the other 53 of them. Haven’t found a list naming the scum yet, but AFAIC, there should soon be angry protests in front of their homes. None of them ought to feel “secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects”…because we -- their bosses -- clearly aren’t.

Further, my favorite Jooooish aphorism is, “If God lived on Earth, people would break His windows”…just sayin’.

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa!
Teh Younger and his friends should now be in Sequoia -- we got a text and a couple of pictures when they stopped in Fresno to resupply.
Mrs. Paddy returns home tonight after spending a few days at a conference in Redlands.
Life is good.

As if we needed further proof that Mayor Bloomberg has tertiary syphilis:

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the possible appointment of a federal monitor for the city’s controversial stop-and-frisk policy could result in higher crime rates.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed papers Wednesday saying that if a federal judge ruled the NYPD’s practices unconstitutional, then the DOJ would strongly endorse the use of a monitor to oversee changes at the department.

The mayor, however, said that the police department needs a clear line of authority. “No military organization or paramilitary runs where you have confusion in the command structure. You just cannot have that. Lives are on the line,” he said in a question-and-answer session with reporters.

Y’know…I’d like to see a cage match to the death between Nanny Bloomberg and Rahm Emanuel: “Tiny Dancer v. Tiny Tyrant”!!!1! Accompanied by select portions of Jacques Offenbach’s “Orpheus in the Underworld” overture (beginning at 7:21):

Interesting. So he admits that his police force, the ‘protect and serve’ people, are in reality, a paramilitary operation?

It must be very hard on him, being so rich, so smart, and so concerned, to just not be able to do whatever he wants.

Federal oversight of the LAPD recently ended cuz they have become such good boys and girls-the mistaken identity shooting of the newspaper delivery girls notwithstanding.

I wonder what oversight the Feds put in place over ATF after F&F? Did they call in the UN to do it?

Did they call in the UN to do it?

Depends…are there opportunities to molest children?

What next, do we give the police power to suppress descent because occupying armies need control of the defeated masses?

Given the increasing militarization of “peace officers” all across this country, I think that’d be the way to bet.

Once again, I will commend two blogs to my fellow Wheelizens:

Radley Balko’s “The Agitator” (Much as I hate giving HuffPo any hits whatsoever, he does very good investigative reporting and has a book on LEO militarization coming out in a few weeks.)

Police Misconduct (Which aggregates news items from mostly “legacy media” sources)

Glad some folks are calling out the Temple, TX police for their illegal actions.

There needs to be a lot more of that sort of thing in places where the cops do not follow the laws they have sworn to uphold and/or abuse the citizenry.

Balko is the best investigative reporter alive today. Would that we could clone him and assign his clones to other gov’t abuse subsets.
