Happy Fathers’ Day, GN!

Hmmmmmm…

The National Security Agency has acknowledged in a new classified briefing that it does not need court authorization to listen to domestic phone calls.

Because fark you, that’s why.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat, disclosed this week that during a secret briefing to members of Congress, he was told that the contents of a phone call could be accessed “simply based on an analyst deciding that.”

If the NSA wants “to listen to the phone,” an analyst’s decision is sufficient, without any other legal authorization required, Nadler said he learned. “I was rather startled,” said Nadler, an attorney and congressman who serves on the House Judiciary committee.

I’m shocked, shocked I tells ya. How do you like that Big Gummint now, Gerry?

Because the same legal standards that apply to phone calls also apply to e-mail messages, text messages, and instant messages, Nadler’s disclosure indicates the NSA analysts could also access the contents of Internet communications without going before a court and seeking approval.

Embrace the Cheka. Love the Stasi.

Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add “within the limits of the law,” because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. — Some irrelevant, dead, rich white guy

Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers!

I wonder if Snowden is on Obama’s kill list? You could define him as a terrorist, on foreign soil, plotting with the Chinese. Seems like a drone strike is in order.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation and a happy Father’s Day to fathers and those who have been like fathers to others.

I’m glad the Dems are finally waking up to the fact that government tyranny is not limited to the other party.

But it’s still largely acceptable when one of their own is in the White House…’cause the “good guys” would never abuse the ability to snoop into our lives.

“Silence, prole! You are clearly not capable of properly running your own life or you’d be doing what we say is best for you. We know, because we’re better than you ignorant, unwashed, unenlightened, gun-clinging Teabaggers!”
