Waking up at 330 in the morning with a headache, but still reaching out and grabbing the first spot! Winning!

Huh. The thread pic is a little ding on govt and the current situation, isnt it? But govt is really the only thing that we all belong to, so we are in actuality dinging ourselves?

I occasionally run into people who say they’ve never had a headache in their lives. On one hand, I should just think well good for them and God bless. But on the other hand I sometimes want to grab them by the neck, kick them in the shins, and say f*ck off.

It makes me conflicted.

I know the feeling. Mr. X doesn’t suffer like we do, so it makes it hard to describe what I’m going through. And ‘den when HE gets a headache, if I try to get him to describe the symptoms, “I don’t know it’s a headache.”
Gah!

Same with this latest round of back spasms -- which woke ME up at 3:15 this morning. And I got trigger point shots right in that area yesterday. Could be this time I have to wait the 3-5 days for them to really take effect.
Ow.

G’morning from Happy Larryville, GN!

Hai, (in chronological order) Sven and RabBeet!

Hope that Sven’s headache has abated.

Another poignant thread pic, Mac; heh.

Because I’m feeling particularly ornery -- and extra-tasteless -- this morning: Y’know what today’s rally on the National Mall needs? Monster trucks!!!1!

On one hand, I should just think well good for them and God bless. But on the other hand I sometimes want to grab them by the neck, kick them in the shins, and say f*ck off.

While I can understand that sentiment, a proper “bless their heart” might be less legally problematic. πŸ˜‰

Sven and Mac --

I’m sure it also hurt “violent statist union goon” morale in Chicago when they had to entirely disband their narco (terrorist) unit a few years ago. And all of the cases where their brave sheepdogs have been prosecuted for decades of torturing confessions from suspects or drunkenly beating the snot out of 5′ tall female bartenders (followed by attempts at intimidating her and her boss).

Or here in Atlanta when they had to disband their heroic “Red Dog” unit for cruelly murdering innocent 92-year-old ladies in their own homes (see Johnston, Kathryn), illegally raiding gay bars for absolutely no valid reason or performing free -- if non-consensual -- roadside proctological exams.

Po’, po’ po-po.

Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT, Sven, and Fatwa!
I hope your headache abates poste haste, Sven. Remember, Obamacare hasn’t fully started yet, so Obama can’t help fix your headache, yet.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

He sure can cause them, ‘tho.

Hai, Paddy!

It appears that Dingy Harry’s been tossed under teh bus, which I find schadenfreudelicious.

Terrific:

An off-duty undercover cop who had claimed he took no active role as fellow bikers pulled a Manhattan dad from his SUV and beat him to a pulp was actually pounding the vehicle with his fists at the height of the bloody road-rage attack, sources told The Post.

The cop, a seven-year veteran, had told investigators he didn’t help the injured man because he rode up to the scene as the beating was nearly over, sources said.

But video footage clearly shows otherwise, disgusted sources said Monday β€” and Internal Affairs Bureau higher-ups want to nail the officer.

Still, probers believe their hands are tied, sources said, because authorities have dropped charges against another biker, Allen Edwards, 43, of Queens, who allegedly punched the rear window of Alexian Lien’s Range Rover before Lien was pummeled in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

It’s good to be one of the King’s (unionized) Men.

Research: There are as of 2006, 683,396 full time state, city, university and college, metropolitan and non-metropolitan county, and other law enforcement officers in the United States. There are approx. 120,000 full time law enforcement personnel working for the federal government adding up to a total number of 800,000 law enforcement personnel in the U.S.

***
We see more thuggery every day, but what I also see is 800,000 local/state/federal law enforcement v. approximately 251,000,000 reasonably able-bodied adult Americans.

I am not even remotely at the point of calling for armed insurrection. I will say that if we stand together we do not have to take what the police state is dishing out to us. We can be mad as hell and not take it anymore. We can say no; we can be American refuseniks, and we CAN MAKE IT STICK. We can take it old school and Gandhi their fascist asses. We can do that.

BTW, my buddy with teh Jooooo slip; he’s been suspended without pay and they have some sort of investigation going on. We’re apparently tougher on shit like that than the fed govt is on using the IRS to target conservatives!

My headache finally abated but I feel like crap. Cooking and listening to the new Black Label Society: Unblackened. Pretty good stuff; not the straight ahead take no prisoners metal effort. Fairly mellow. In fact, right now Zakk Wylde is doing a decent cover of Aint No Sunshine.

Couple more guys quit our department today. So it goes.

Sorry the pics are so small; those really are people in NPS uniforms.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

I’ve been asking myself if POSOTUS is so profoundly ignorant that he thinks it’s really a good idea to use NPS goons as shock troops, given their particular training.

The answer I keep coming up with is “very possibly so”…which is all kinds o’ scary. πŸ˜‰

Go, geeks!

Two theorists who predicted the existence of the subatomic Higgs boson almost 50 years ago β€” and were proven right just last year β€” won the Nobel Prize for physics on Tuesday.

British physicist Peter Higgs and Belgian physicist Francois Englert shared the honors, announced in Stockholm at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

=======================

Fermilab physicist Leon Lederman gave the Higgs boson its better-known nickname β€” “the God Particle” β€” because of its fundamental role in the mechanisms governing the cosmos. Today, physicists almost universally regret that nickname because it wrongly carries suggestions of the supernatural. Lederman himself later said he really meant to call it the “Goddamn Particle” because it proved so elusive.

The Higgs boson is the last fundamental particle predicted by one of physics’ most successful theories, the Standard Model, and is thought to play a part in giving mass to some subatomic particles (such as the W-boson) but not others (such as the photon).

He ought to get something after providing free health care to the entire world.
