Another JEF thread picture.

Yesterday was busy for us.
BW took the day off & we both got mammograms. We got the appt. letters in April, but never got around to actually making an appt. & going. So finally, something came up that made BW want to get it checked out & off we went to our 8:00 appt.

Once we got there, BW mentioned her concern & they said they had to call her dr. to get an okay about something & her office said she wouldn’t be in for another half hour. But we were lucky & she called back within10 minutes.
We had something called a 3D exam. I couldn’t see what all the excitement was about. Same principle of putting your breast in a vise. But if it makes the tech happy, whatever.

Ha! The tech told me she needed to take another look. I asked if it was the area that concerned them last time. She said , “No, but this last view looked a little saggy.” I thought to myself, ” they look a little saggy even when they aren’t in a vise!”

The thing BW was concerned about turned out not to be a thing at all.

We had spur-of the-moment decided to go to Winstar in Oklahoma after the exam. I was hoping to make it there before they stopped serving the free senior breakfastat 11am. I drove , um, very aggressively & got there at 10:55.
We fast-walked to the breakfast room & it was obvious no longer being held there. A worker told us it was back in the original spot, on the other side of the World’s Largest Ca$***. So we fast walked through the building & got there in time to eat. We found out that they say the closing is at 11, but they keep it going till 11:30. Sometimes the busses are late .

We played all day & didn’t leave until after 5pm. We came home with all most all of the money that we brought to lose. My biggest win was $110.98 on a $1 bet in a penny machine. BW was cleaning up , too. As we were about to leave, I saw a penny machine called “Coyote Moon”. It made me laugh & was close enough to Coyote Mind that I had to play it. A $0.30 bet hit for $5.55! I laughed at that, but walked away before feeding it back.

We drove back home at a slower pace, glad that it was Thursday. Today, the traffic will be a lot worse. This is Texas-OU weekend & southbound 35 is a parking lot.

Good morning and thanks Rabbit for the early morning tale; I did spit up a little coffee on the keyboard but will clean it up later.

Friday greetings from Happily -- and civilly disobedient -- Larryville, GN!

Hai RabBeet; glad that your mammogram / breakfast / gambling junket was a win / win / win for both of you. (Did teh tech have to wear red and blue glasses while interpreting your scans?)

Local head-scratcher:

A seven-hour SWAT standoff ended early Friday when Gwinnett police entered a home near Lawrenceville to find that the suspect wasn’t inside.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the incident began late Thursday when a man fired shots during an altercation with the family that lives in the home on Castle Drive.

“Apparently, he became upset over something, grabbed a weapon and fired off a few rounds,” Gwinnett police Cpl. Edwin Ritter told Channel 2.

No one was injured by the gunfire, and the homeowners and their children ran outside. The SWAT team was called in after police learned that the gunman has a previous conviction for assaulting an officer.

When SWAT officers finally entered the home around 5 a.m. Friday, the suspect, whose name has not been released, was not inside.

If this guy was so damned dangerous that they deployed SWAT, why would they not release his name? (First approximation: the suspect’s an LEO. Second approximation: bored union goons looking for some sweet, sweet OT. And fresh donuts.)

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT and Sven!
Thanks for the story, RabBiT -- that line “I’ll need to take another look” never worked out well for me, and I’d never dare to say “the last view looked a little saggy”. Maybe if I wore my lab coat?

Alright, I know this place will come alive as soon as the captioning contest starts and in order to get a jump on Jerry, I’ll kick the thing off:

They look a little saggy even when they aren’t in a vise!

Perhaps Gov. Moonbeam didn’t want to deal with too many NRA lawsuits. According to what I read, his statement re the veto was almost lucid. 😉

I appreciate this sentiment:
