Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

First o’ November greetings from drear, drizzly and Happy Larryville, GN!

My brain’s still trying to make some sense of Mac’s thread GIF; wee-yurd.

He dressed up as a menacing laugh emitting from the darkened library.

Sadly, not a single candy-cadging urchin fled in terror from teh diabolical cackling. Which is both depressing and demoralizing; I feel as though I’m no longer contributing to either the household or society.

So…it appears that POSOTUSCare was able to sign up a whole six people on the first day.

Heh.

Hee hee hee.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaha…

(Dang it…that laugh was also sub-par. I haz a sad.)

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Ah yes, the eternal battle ‘twixt rooster and cat -- are there ever any real winners?

I’m not looking forward to this morning -- we’ll be working on aligning our instruction to the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS). That would sound like a good thing, but CCSS only covers English Language Arts and Math. The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are still a few years away from implementation. So we get to spend the morning figuring out how we are to incorporate more reading and writing into our curricula -- preferably primary source material (meaning journal articles). I’m sorry, but most college chemistry majors would have a hard time with many journal articles until they have gone through enough courses to have the requisite background knowledge -- what are high school kids supposed to do?

Top-down planning -- it never fails.

Thread pic: can’t we all just get along?

Well that’s six people that didnt have health care before and were close to death due to the evil insurance companies. I did read the document that Issa released, but honestly, it’s hard to believe it.

Another thing I find funny about this debacle is the left’s response to anecdotes. For years and years we’ve been hammered with anecdotal evidence to support anything the left wants to do: oh, this black person was disenfranchised and that’s evidence of the right-wing plot to kill blacks; every single murder done with a gun is evidence of the need for more gun control--if it saves just one life; this woman had to pay for her own birth control pills which is more evidence of the right’s war on women, etc.

People losing their insurance now under Obamacare? That’s just ‘anecdotal’. The vast majority of people won’t be effected and besides those people were just too stupid to know how badly they were getting screwed. On top of which, the leftist media is digging into each anecdote and trying to debunk. It’s a shocker--for the first time in their journalistic lives, they actually seem to be trying to do some research.

My disgust with the left in general and Obama in particular is reaching new levels of disgustiness. It’s going all the way to 11.

And good morning!

Me too.

And I’ve also had it with the cowardly and corrupt GOPers in Congress who repeatedly have let bad actors lie shamelessly to them about very serious matters and then blithely waltz out of hearings.

They have both a Sergeant-at-Arms and the Capitol Jail available to them; too bad they’re invertebrate, lily-livered filth.

Ol’ Jerry just finished wiring the coach lights on the sun room and according to Jerry’s three laws of wiring everything proceeded per normal.

1. Wiring of any length will seek out and attach itself to any object requiring a full stop. Two objects if you are on a ladder.
2. The newer the existing wiring the increased likelihood that ground will NOT be connected.
3. Reverse polarity seems to be a requirement.

I’d be careful, Fatwa, with those promises coming from Jerry!

Another day and another dollar. Tonite is Mrs Sven’s bday and I planned to take her out to dinner, but we’ll postpone until the weekend so she can rest up and enjoy herself. Work is killing her. So I stopped and got 1.5 pounds of fresh scampi which I will now clean and prep for cooking. And a bottle of wine. Cuz Im a good husband.

If she really wanted a an old Chevy, I’d get that for her. Just sayin’.

It’s curious that so many killers apparently wear military-style camouflage when sneaking around urban environments. It helps them blend in how?

Maybe they think people will mistake them for LEOs.

Heh.

Nonetheless, I may not be a good choice as a role model.
