G’day, GN from sunny, cold yet Happy Larryville.

Hope that Mr. X is resting as comfortably as possible…and that he and TeX both got some sleep last night.

Other than that, I got nothin’.

Good Morning EveryGerbillyBody!

*I* managed to sleep last night, Mr. X didn’t.
Hard to say at this point if the Vicodin is making him wired, or the anxiety over the nerve block they gave him yesterday overcame it.

I mean you’re in the trades, and you come out of surgery and can’t feel your right arm from shoulder to fingertip.

Last night it was still swollen, he couldn’t close his hand -- and his brain got tuned to K-FVCK and that was it -- he was up all night.

The block’s worn off -- and he can use his hand to hold things stable, so that’s better, and the anxiety’s wearing off…but he tried napping this morning, and still didn’t *sleep*.

So his body’s either going to finally hit “exhausted” and he’ll sleep -- or I’ll call the doc and get his pain meds switched to a codeine-base.

So far, though, he’s being a good “patient”. How long that will last… 😉

Heh.
Yesterday, when we were on our way home, I stopped by the Wendy’s drive-thru so we could get some food in his stomach.

Pulling away, Mr. X had a, how shall I say, “moment of urgency” … so I pulled around and parked in front. Still a little wobbly, I needed to escort him into the men’s room.

Poor college kid steps in a minute later, sees me, skids to a stop then backs up, looks at the sign on the door and looks at me.
“Sorry, my husband just got out of surgery, he’s a little wobbly and needs my help.”
“Oh. [pause] Oh, well, hell, you won’t mind, will you?”
“Nah, go ahead.”
Needless to say, the kid wasn’t “pee shy”.

He, ah, well, er, didn’t look like a young Jerry did he?

Hi, TeX and Jerry!

TeX --

Cheers for teh update; glad to know things are headed in the right direction.

…or I’ll call the doc and get his pain meds switched to a codeine-base.

Heh. Hope Mr. X is able to snooze now his anxiety level is lower (and teh fatigue wastes are building up).

Chuckled over teh Wendy’s tale, too.
