Thoughts and prayers Paddy throughout the morning. Good luck.
Are you doing this on your own? Are you allowed an attorney? You’re a good man that doesnt deserve this and I can’t help but think it will work out in your favor.
Good thoughts and wishes have been loosed and are heading your way at top speed.
Far less salutary thoughts aimed at all of the cowardly, corrupt bastards responsible for this load of utter hogwash bull-farking-shit.
Professional interrogator?? Professional interrogator??!?!? That pisses me off more than words can express. Ditto the fact they’ve not bothered to get your side of the story until this point in the process; the phrase “star chamber” comes to mind.
Hope you can discreetly (or overtly) document this travesty.
Stay strong, Paddy. This isnt just about a job; these people are attacking who you are as a man, attacking everything you believe in and stand for. Whatever it takes, you have to fight this.
Paddy, I second Sven’s thoughts about a lawyer. You really, really should have one accompany you today. Many innocent people have been railroaded on the assumption that their innocence will protect them from harm, that works only in a fair and unbiased system.
I know you have resources, but if you need additional you have but to ask.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, Fatwa, and Jerry!
Thanks for the thread pic, Mac!
Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers. Given the short notice (Friday afternoon, before a long weekend) and the fact that my attorney left the firm (and I didn’t find out until I tried to contact her Friday afternoon), I’ll only have union (spit), not legal representation. I’m also not sure that at this point I can demand that a lawyer be present -- later, yes, but I’m not sure about now. I spoke with the law firm yesterday and they asked for a report later today.
The interrogation was conducted by two women and lasted about 1.5 hours. They had previously interviewed the initial four complainants plus 26 additional students who were named by the four as being able to corroborate their claims. They asked about my use of profanity in class (never!) and asked if I had said some things that kids reported I said. As Teh Older remarked, “I can testify you never said that -- that’s not your speech pattern.” They asked about staring at students as they walked up to my desk and walked back to their seats. They asked about remarking on students clothing (when the kids in orchestra have a performance, the guys wear tuxes to class and the girls wear long dresses). They asked about touching students on the arm and back. Some students were uncomfortable that other students give me hugs. At the end, they said the interview was shorter than they expected, they won’t have to follow up with any students, and it will take 2-3 weeks to write up their report.
Afterwards, I spoke with an attorney who told me I gave all the wrong answers and that I should go through life avoiding all contact with students. If I need to get past students, tell them to move. If they won’t, then find another way around. If a student (like my clinically depressed, suicidal students who are already in a support group) wants a hug, I have to step back and refuse. Never comment on a students’ clothing and rest assured that no teachers from your school will admit to ever touching a student for any reason, or anything else I was asked about, for fear of winding up where I am. The world of education is a foreign land to me, and I don’t like what it has become.
Paddy, I am so sorry that you have been caught up in this witch hunt and I don’t give their apparent accusations credence for a single moment. I suspect that they are putting you through all of this to ensure that you are too intimidated to sue their happy asses.
This kind of thing is one of the reasons that FTR homeschools — good teachers are effectively hamstrung or run off (when they were always too few to begin with), and the curriculum is too often a bizarre and twisted rendering of what should have been an education but is instead yet another failure in social engineering.
Thank you for updating us, Paddy. I am sorry I could not respond sooner but I just could not have been civil. I was just reading about teachers guilty of rape or molesting minors that are on the payroll though they can not be around children. I have been afraid that no good teacher could do their jobs properly these days without being vulnerable to unprincipled administrators or activists. This just seems to prove it. I would end all public schools above the local level answering to the parents today if I could. I find it hard to even be rational about it. You are a true gentleman.

Major props for today’s thread pic; may it be a harbinger of Paddy whipping their skanky asses.

I’ll let all y’all know how it goes.

Back to the waiting game.
Thank you again for all the thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the update, Paddy. Hopefully you are relaxing a little bit tonite with a good stiff drink after the day you went through.
Hang in there.
