I expect a somewhat busy day due to the weekend SoCal rain. We’ve already gotten a couple of calls from folks who declined to heed our prognostications and/or advice. One was from three years ago and, as Insty says, “all is proceeding as I have foreseen”. (And no…we can’t do it for the same price we bid in late 2011.)
Mad props to SpaceX for a successful Dragon payload launch bound for the ISS, followed by landing the first stage booster upright on a floating barge!
Not perfectly; some equipment on the barge got damaged but according to the linked article, the booster itself is okay. For a first-ever attempt, that’s pretty damned impressive; moar, please!

Teh Younger seems to be handling the recovery of 5 year old Phoebe’s body as well as can be expected. We talked about things for quite a while last night. The team members have been checking in on each other, as well. We all appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Just taking things day-to-day. Trying to dispose of some of my parents’ estate on ebay and craigslist. Waiting for teaching jobs to open up in the spring. Looking for other work in the meantime.

I think she makes a pretty good case for her decision at the link.
