Up at the crack o’ early this morning. I have to get across town to pick up ZS for a dr. appt. Well, really just a consult with the paperwork people to line her up with some specialists the hospital recommended.
Then BW & I have to deal with a paperwork problem about her leave. See, the doctor wrote the order for her to be off work for a month. But the airport paper people are in a wad about exact dates. I guess if a dr. signs and DATES a paper, it is too hard to figure out what “a month” means.

Check-off boxes rule the world. Woe be unto you who have not checked off the correct box
-- Teh Book of Rabbit

I may have mentioned a curious box on wheels that I found in TM’s garage. It was tall,well-made, lined & had some kinda electrical thing in the top. I figured it was some kinda stereo cabinet for music electronics of WG’s Father. The yard guy thought it was a cabinet for a hot water heater, even though it was on wheels. Well, the day we were moving ZS, Good Nephew laughed at my guesses and told me it was a grow-box that WG built. He did admires the workmanship. Ha! I rolled it out to the street thinking that some one would grab it. After a couple of days , I took the bottom off and made a little flat dolly to roll heavy stuff on. Saved my back some.

Gotta hop
See ya later

Hai, RabBeet!

Glad you were able to get some utility from the “curious box”. Also, your quote from Teh Book of Rabbit is a sad “big truth”.

Hope it’s not too difficult for you and BW to square things with teh Paperwork Minions.

Take the cat. Please.

Good morning Rabbit and Fatwa! Good luck with the clean up chores and doctor’s visits, Rabbit. And good day to you too, Fatwa.

Thought for Mr Admin. As opposed to sending you a few bucks to help with the site upkeep, is their a favorite charity we could donate to?

Muggy here. More rain today.

Happy damp, humid, hot Monday, Gerbil Nation! Or should that be ‘happy Monday, Gerbil Nation from damp, humid, hot, SoCal’? It’s hard to keep things straight when sufficient coffee has not been imbibed.

A great big Monday greeting to RabBiT, Fatwa, and Sven!

I love Teh Book of RabBiT -- both the concept and the quote! Good luck with the paperwork and the clean-up.

Teh Older and I had a good time at the Craft Beer festival, yesterday. There were 34 different breweries offering a variety of different beers (2 oz. pours) and plenty of water. They had lots of buckets scattered around so you could dump your beer and didn’t have to consume it all.

The only problem we had was getting into the county fair, where the beer fest was. The fair offers free off-site parking and shuttle service on the weekends. Since this was the opening weekend, I didn’t want to deal with the madness that parking on-site can be and opted for the shuttle. After the ubiquitous bag inspection, you had to empty your pockets and get wanded down. Both Teh Older and I always carry a pocket knife. We were told we could let security confiscate our knives (including the little key-ring swiss-army knife with the nail file and scissors) or we could put them in our car and come back. I sent Teh Older on and took the shuttle back to my car, then back to the fair. The entire process took 40 minutes and I missed the first 20 minutes of the VIP hour we had paid for. It’s getting to where you can’t carry a pocket knife anywhere any more -- all in the name of ‘security’.

Hai, Sven and Paddy!

Hoping the weekend weather is a harbinger of a wet winter out there. (Preferably without too many major fires to denude the landscape prior to heavy rains.)

Re no pocket knives at the county fair: what a malodorous crock.

I found the fair’s policy buried on the ‘Guest Services’ page:

The following items are prohibited:

Outside food and beverages are permitted if stored in factory sealed plastic receptacles. No cans or glass.
Guns, knives, stun-guns, tasers, mace, pepper spray, tear gas or any other firearms or weapons, regardless of whether the guest holds a concealed weapons permit
Narcotics or other illegal substances
Cans or glass bottles
Hard sided coolers
Clothing or exposed tattoos that are indecent
Pets or other animals with the exception of service animals as defined by the ADA
Outside alcohol
Selfie sticks
Drones or remote controlled surveillance devices

Well, at least they aren’t banning guests from bringing in their own deep fryers. 🙂

Early evening greetings!
Well, things didn’t go as planned, but I guess they went like they were supposed to. Hey , that’s almost a Book of Rabbit quote.
During the visit to the doctor today, ZS BP spiked up. She immediately took the after pill for that. The doctor came in & did an exam. She was unhappy with the numbers & asked if we had time to sit & take another after pill ,then wait 30 minutes to see if it would go down. Or she was going to send us over to the ER! So we agreed & the numbers did go down. ZS asked if she was to now double the pills & dr. said, ” No, I give you something else”. From there we had to drive two blocks to the main hospital to meet with a social worker to try to get on a program sponsored by a drug maker to get her $400 a month pill reduced or free. Luckily, the lady met us in the main lobby & had the paperwork ready to go. Filling it out took a couple of minutes. Back to ZS apt. to call the Walmart closest to her house for directions. the script was filled immediately. I drove over there & picked it up, along with some Gatorade & a couple of grocery items.

In the meantime, BW stayed at home & rested. We will tackle the paperwork minions & other things tomorrow. I came home, ate & napped.
I have oven-fried chicken tenders cooking & I am calling it a day.

See ya later!

Today, after a little over seven years, ol’ Jerry is fully erect! I’ll leave you to think about that for awhile.

A little over seven years? That would be about the time Teh Older and I first had the pleasure of sharing dinner with you.
