As Sven said, it’s already hot and going to get hotter. SoCal Edison has called a ‘Flex Alert’, asking everyone to reduce electricity usage between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. I guess all that green energy that Gov. Moonbeam and Beamettes have legislated isn’t working out quite as well as plannedenvisioned dreamed of.
Speaking of not working so well, the business section of the paper had more indicators of the strength of our economy: Quicksilver, the iconic surf brand, is filing for Chapter 11; Haggen, a Northwest grocery chain that expanded into SoCal earlier this year is also filing for Chapter 11 protection; and Macy’s is closing 30-40 stores.
Good morning! Sven..I hope its just as wonderful as you hope. As for Borrego Springs, the most wonderfulest place on earth is La Casa Del Zorro. I finally got my swim yesterday and the water was 79-80 degrees! Had to dive down to Davy’s locker to find any coolness. It was spectacular with glassy ripples of shiny copper under a gorgeous tropical sunset. Ill take it.
I’m learning to speak spanish. I really, finally am! Duolingo. Its a free app for smartphones and its actually fun and easy to do! Ive tried for years and spent lots of $ to be enthused about learning it but I always felt like a chore and was bored so I never stuck with it. This time I’m actually enjoying it! Last night my duolingo owl said I was 32% fluent so I earned some “lingots” to keep my owl happy, so now…mi buho tiene las gafas de sol! Excellente!
I wore yoga pants to work for the flex alert. tee hee!
Well, the temperature went from 103°F to 87° in the span of 20 minutes. The wind went from non-existant to 20mph gusts. The humidity went from 10% to 50%, and we currently have heavy rain.

I woke at 4:30 to lightning and rain. I ran around opening windows. They got to stay open for awhile.
Mostly we just stayed in and tried to regroup from yesterday.
That sorry company “Matrix” is jacking with BW again. She has spent the last couple of hours messing with the computer, printer, scanner,etc. She downloaded their google app for something, filled out a long form & then it came up as “undelivereable”. They are now back to charging BW’s time as vacation instead of short-term disability again. Later, that witch that is handling her claim called us “to see if she had some questions”. Reading her script that things were “pending” and “under review”. The only three words she knows. BW said “Who is this medical staff that is reviewing this?” “I’m not allowed to say”. BW lost it & finally hung up on her. I guess that was the goal. So I am left with a shattered, crying BW who was stressed before the phone call. She’s better now. But this is all so stupid.
And of course, phone hell wouldn’t be complete with out some foolishness from ZS. She called earlier & asked what BW we were up to. I said BW was working on forms etc. I told her BW would call her back later. Twenty minutes later she called back and asked if BW was through. I told her no. She wanted to know if we had heard from WG. I said he called last night & we told him that She & Sis were coming to visit him & bring money. Then she wanted to ask about all details of the call (which lasted about 30 seconds). I told her that I didn’t know any more.
So when BW got around to calling her, it turns out that she didn’t go visit him. She sent Sis (with Sis’ money) to the jail. Some lame excuse that the money drop is at one jail & he is at another one. BW offered to add her phone number to her collect call list so that she can talk to him & not go through us. She didn’t want it. BW told her that when the pre-paid amount is used up, that’s it. She had no interest in using her own money to call her own son. You know , the one that she’s “so worried” about. BW was civilto her on the phone, but came unglued after hanging up. Then came the call from the witch at Matrix.
But that’s not all! I got two phone solicitors in this time, too. Ha!
It started raining again for a few minutes.
Long enough to knock out DirecTV for awhile.
I think I may go to bed early!
I need to know who to have my lawyer contact about medical malpractice as well as violations of the Family Medical Leave Act. Should we add your name to the list?

Which is why every call to our home phone gets answered by the answering machine. We might get two calls a month on that number that aren’t phone solicitors. We are about ready to give it up.
