Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
It may not be raining much at Sven’s Mountain Redoubt, but it’s pouring down here. I guess I didn’t get the tarp in quite the right place last week as the drip is back. Maybe I’ll go up in the crawl space today and check it out.
Good morning! Home from Catalina with the fam bam! I’ve decided my new passion will be stand up paddleboard as soon as I can find one I like. I couldn’t get enough! I’m tired and sore from all the hiking, boarding, snorkeling and swimming (and drinking) but would go back again today if I could! The hotel that my son booked was less than desirable. It was old and shabby with no air conditioning, We named our room “El Sotano” because it really was in the basement, but it was cheap and there were no bugs and really we only slept there for 3 nights. I slept like the dead because I was so worn out every day! Next time, I pick the hotel!
All in all, it was a great time with my kids and their significant others! We loved renting a golf cart and taking our own tour up to the top where they zip line.. we passed on that. Instead, the kids took turns bombing the hills on the skateboard while we followed in the cart..EXCITING but scary for a mom to watch! …and we saw the cutest fox! My son and his girlfriend also saw an estimated 400lb black sea bass just north of Descanso beach!! Groovy!
Oh well, back to the work grind today. Its raining! That must mean teh drought is OVER? Yay!
Climbed into the crawl space and onto the vaulted ceiling where the leak is -- no luck. Nothing on the roof felt damp, even at the point where the water is dripping down. There is too much existing staining on the underside of the wood shakes to be sure of where the leak is. I found one possible spot, then checked up on the roof (fortunately I can use the skylight as a reference point for measurements), but didn’t see anything, although the tarp had been blown back at that spot and the leak only seems to occur when the wind is driving the rain. I’ll see about tucking in some shingles at that and a couple of other points and sealing the edges.
Afternoon Greetings!
Reading Cali’s vacation story left me tired!
BW and I went and got our mammograms today. Digital is the way to go, ladies. First time that I remember-no pain! Wow! Sorry for the TMI.
Cloudy all day here, but no rain. The heat is back. 91.
Yuck what a day on the roads! I had to be out in Burbank today--2.5 hours to go about 40 miles. The drive back though was OK.
As much as I dislike Trump, I am heartily amused about the concern from the Left about how divisive he is and how his rhetoric “won’t bring us together” as a nation. “We are divided more than ever! It has to stop!”
Yeah, well, fark you. I listened to your crap for 8 years as you went after Bush when he was president; I watched your “tolerance” back in 2008 when Sarah Palin was in the mix; and I’ve listened to your bullshit with BLM and OWS while at the same time you went after Conservatives and Tea Partiers and branded any and all criticisms of Obama as racist.
What goes around comes around--something you idiots just can’t seem to learn.
Hiya, GN!
The best thing which can be said about today is “it ain’t Monday.”

Thanks for “The Shining” trailer parody.
Coffee?
Second!
Good morning, Fatwa.
Rain this morning out here; not much, but it will make a mess of the roads.
Hai, Sven!
Sorry about the messy roads; OTOH, teh rain may provide moar opportunities for feelthy lucre.
It’s all about you, Fatwa. Heh. But yeah, opportunity is falling from the skies.
It’s that time. Out the door I go.

Glad you’re getting some rain; hope it cools things off. And that you can spot the leak.
Busy day on the phones / email already what with the rain.

The weather here is FABULOUS! So you know, because it really is all about Fatwa.
No bull, that really is udderly ridiculous.

Digital mammograms? That sounds like something Jerry would be involved with.
I expect Jerry’s digits have examined things we don’t want to imagine.

Fark you with Jerry’s digits!
