In large part, I will be glad to see this year out; hope 2017 is less carp-filled but I ain’t holdin’ my breath. (Not that there haven’t been some good things about ’16, but I’m feeling extra-grumpy this morning.)

Since the Tournament of Roses Parade is being held on the 2nd this year (never on a Sunday), that means I’ll be spending New Year’s Eve decorating (the floats are normally finished late night of the 30th with judging on the 31st). Since Mrs. Paddy is preaching tomorrow morning (her boss, the pastor, is on vacation), we won’t be staying quite so long as we normally would. A couple we know from float decorating is getting married tonight on the Rose Queen’s float, the service to be officiated by another decorating friend of ours. Hopefully we’ll be able to stay long enough to see the ceremony.

Mr. Computer completely crashed earlier this week and I’ve just gotten him back. I made a mistake in taking it where I did to get it fixed, but so it goes. My data is intact but all my programs are gone, so tonight I’ll be busily downloading and reinstalling. Yeah. me.
