I had a lot of kids last night, handed out about 200 pieces of candy -- meaning about a 100 kids. Some were so cute and sweet; they are now vacuum packed and in the freezer. I set out the decorations at 4:00 and take everything down at 10:00. This year I did two holograms, one on the front door and one on the dining room window.
We probably had a similar number. I think my wife gave out 70 or more packets of microwave popcorn and some chocolate bars her sister brought. They brought our grand niece who is almost three now. This is the first Halloween where she kind of knows what is happening and she had a good time. There are no kids in their neighborhood, just retired folks, so everyone came here. She had a good time. When the first group of kids went to leave she ran off to go with them. Her father had to chase after her. She had a little witch costume with a broom and was very cute.
Watching the Raiders play tonight -- I am sooooooo thankful that Marshawn Lynch chose to sit on his fat ass during the National anthem last year. Otherwise I’d be knocking holes in walls or looking for a fight right about now. Man, this team sucks. I do feel bad for Derek Carr -- he had a lot of promise and the right moral character, but his career is done.

Not that many kids came by, last night. It seems like fewer and fewer houses are “open for business” on Halloween. Not sure why that is.

We didn’t know what to expect as it rained a lot during the day but it stopped at the right time. The kids here are very nice.
In 25 or more years up here, we’ve never had a single child venture to our place. Gave up decorating and buying candy after a few years.
