I go back in January to see if the bone has locked in the implant. If he is happy then he will clear me to see my dentist about the crown part. There is just a kind of placeholder screw in the implant now, that the dentist will remove at the time.
I was lucky, Elena had to have a bone graft before they could install the implant.Because I have had an issue with this tooth for some time, I thought I might have that problem. I am quite impressed with this oral surgeon. They had Elena bring the car to the front door and wheeled me out in a wheelchair. It was funny because it was a mirror image of one week before when Elena had the spinal injections, I brought the car up and they wheeled her out.
The Club’s enlistment of former TPP approving congressman Ron DeSantis as a foil against the MAGA leader is transparent. DeSantis, funded by massive contributions from the Wall Street approval committee, replaces the prior approved candidate, Jeb. This Big Ugly battle was always going to end up with vulgarian Trump -vs- the next Jeb. The Club has selected DeSantis as Jeb.
I always thought Jeb was a non-starter, and while I know it’s probably mostly for the optics I still like DeSantis’ fire in the hole approach. Ooh -- sorry about captioning. I kept falling asleep on Friday and frankly the whole day was pretty much a blur.
Happy Smack-the-Goat Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Mac -- I’m glad you’re dental work went well. I hope the pain of buying a car for Elena wasn’t too great. When I finished paying off my car, I added that payment to Mrs. Paddy’s car. When we pay hers off next August, we’ll continue to make those payments to ourselves to build up a cash reserve.
Sven -- interesting articles. I’m not sure who to believe, but I don’t see DeSantis as another Jeb.
Very wise, Paddy. I will pay off the credit cards first and then apply that payment to pay off the car. We wanted to get the cards paid off first but we have put over 3K into the car over the last 1 1/2 to 2 years and it was worth $500.00. We were buying time but now it was going to need another $1,200.00 or so and I just decided it was better to get it done. We did not get a new car but a 2021 Nissan Versa SV with 27K miles on it. It is very nice and has good protection, so she is happy. Prices are crazy as I am sure you know, and the dealers add premiums instead of discounting from MSRP. Cars the dealer websites show as 20 to 21K MSRP end up being 25 to 28K or more. We might have been able to get into a new KIa for what we paid but it would mean waiting months to see the car and I felt better putting this money into a used Nissan over a new Kia. We have had two new Kias now. I would not have minded one if they were much cheaper but they are almost as high as the better brands.
I’m not sure either, Paddy, which interpretation is the correct one. I do think that it’s going be an ugly two years for the right politically speaking. Once Trump announces next week, every right-leaning pundit and politician is going to be asked the “do you support Trump” in every interview or public appearance for the next two years. Trump is forcing people to make a choice now when it isn’t really necessary or good for the country.
The goat wins.
Good morning, GN.
Mac, hope all is well with you and Mrs. Mac -- how’s the dental work going?
Thank you, Sven. Had the procedure on the 31st and all went well. Never needed a single pain pill. All the pain transferred to my credit card.
We got a car for Elena this last weekend so that is finally done. First car payments in 20 years, booooo.
Have they added the implanted tooth and you are all done, or is that down the road yet?

Short and insightful.

And the opposite perspective.

Glad you found a vehicle that fits your needs.
