Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Happy birthday, 2 of VII, BrendaK!!
I thought Fatwa would appreciate this cake -- each person gets his or her own cabbage rose.
Aw, you shouldn’t have, Paddy.
*Clenches jaw and speaks in unnaturally calm voice*
No…you really shouldn’t have.
Oooooooo, purty…
Breakfast cake…NOM!!!11bacon!!
I really like the Winged Bacon on top. Nice touch, that.
Dang! And Paddy found what I couldn’t! Nice pic!
Happy Birfday II of VII, Brenda!!!

Please let me get through this day. It’s the “big day” when we build our electronic products. Please, please, please let this one go smoothly.
Last night was range night for the police class. It was fun. A gentleman out here has a pretty nice range set up that the police use frequently -- he’s got one post set at 875 yards.

We got to go full-auto with the FN P-90 -- shoots the 5.7 x 28 round -- very low recoil, HELL of a trigger pull. The flash-bangs were less impressive then I thought they’d be -- then again, it was out in the open.
The one thing that’s bothered me throughout this class is I haven’t been able to connect with anybody. I’ve spent the brief amounts of time with almost the entire class, and nothing. One gentleman and I have an “ammo watch” agreement, and that’s it.
Mr. X thinks it’s because I’ve probably become the teacher’s pet -- but I don’t see how that’s possible. Or even likely -- hell, the teacher’s wife is in the damn class.
I usually don’t have this problem -- I’m gonna have to think on it.
TeX --
Bummer about teh lack of “connection”; fvck ’em…their (non-trivial) loss.
I’d imagine that being outdoors was part of it. (Also, the lack of couches, draperies, carpeting and/or children to burn with them.)
Heh.
I made a semi-snide comment about wooden structures being particularly susceptible.
And there’s no fondness for the BATFE that I’ve been able to detect amongst ANY of these guys.
What type of people comprise this class? Breakdown of men and women?
Maybe it’s because you are from California?
Huh. My first effort at a response got et.
It’s a pretty good mix, I think. More women than men, and I think *most* of the women are either in healthcare or involved with the school system -- except for the City Councilwoman.
Don’t know about the men.
I’m probably smack in the middle age-wise. Not the youngest, definitely not the oldest (74 is one age I heard).
The gaggle of pretty women that hover around the teacher’s wife are probably about ten years younger than I am.
Oh.
The part that was in my original reply…anyone that’s talked to me for more than 30 seconds has figured out I don’t want to duplicate what’s going on in CA.
Still no word from Jerry about his ETA in Larryville; wonder if he’ll get here in time for teh appetizer tryouts at KFH&BBQ? We were sort of counting on not having to feed his whole
mobentourage ourselves tonight. And I spent a long time yesterday bug-spraying teh crawl space…and GraciousHostessK insisted that we purchase a new hose nozzle. Plus, we turned teh guest mattress “lumpiest side up”.
Well, at least no one will wonder, “But why is Gran Marnier gone?”
I have been tasked with informing all o’ y’all that a Captioning Contest will commence at 9:00 this evening.
