Friday

1975 – B.J. Thomas had the longest title of a number one song at the top of the “Billboard” popular music chart. The song was “(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.”

If our congress exempts itself from the Obamacare carp sammich they’re force-feeding to us, I believe a “Kongressionallnacht” would be utterly justified…at least insofar as their district office windows are concerned.

Ditto picketing in front of their homes. All of them.

In matters of style, swim with the current;
In matters of principle, stand like a rock. -- Thomas Jefferson

Arbuckle’s corrollary: “And if necessary, throw rocks.”

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? — Thomas Jefferson

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Last night went well -- we had a steady stream of people coming by the science area. We even ran out of material to make slime. I guess we’ll have to get our bureaucrats from more traditional sources.

Fatwa -- I notice that members of Congress have been holding closed-door meetings regarding Obamacare waivers. You can bet they’re trying to find some way to give themselves waivers while avoiding political liability.

Yup. And I don’t think that should be allowed; “fairness”, you know.

Keith’s Funeral Home and BBQ will be open this evening for reveling and snark.
Will we be getting our Fair CaptionQueenK primed for a Caption contest?

As some of you may recall, Dad lived in Instanbul from before the end of the war until ’48; as such, he was not the Turks’ biggest fan.

While speaking with my Best Man this morning, he related that Dad once asserted, “Almost anything can happen in politics; the fact there was an Ottoman Empire is proof of that.”

*Bittersweet “heh!”*
