My word…it’s getting difficult to stay on top of the various malefic activities of our gummint which are being revealed every day. Not to mention how many public employees apparently know nothin’ ’bout ‘nothin’ ‘cept for not having done anything wrong or improper.
I’m becoming more inclined to think that pine tar, feathers and rails are seriously worth a second look. Ditto the Chinese method of dealing with corrupt officials.
At an absolute minimum, we need to strip every single public employee in this country of their immunity from prosecution and bust their unions.
Her brief statement of innocence has opened a legal Pandora’s Box, according to Dershowitz.
“You can’t simply make statements about a subject and then plead the Fifth in response to questions about the very same subject,” the renowned Harvard Law professor said.
“Once you open the door to an area of inquiry, you have waived your Fifth Amendment right . . . you’ve waived your self-incrimination right on that subject matter.”
It shows poor planning on Issa’s part. He knew ahead of time that Lerner would refuse to answer questions and should have had contingency plans mapped out for yesterday’s hearing.
I’d like to believe that he’s looking at the bigger picture and has some grand scheme in mind, but I’m not too confident about that as he is a Congressman and all.
I’d like to believe that as well, Sven…but I ain’t holdin’ my breath.
I wonder if Issa’s dismissal yesterday was a ploy to deflect the seemingly-inevitable accusations of bullying and/or abuse of power before going after Lerner hammer and tongs. (Not that it’ll work, but I suppose one can’t blame a guy for trying.)
Here’s a little news video showing off our local Tea Party group-I missed this meeting. As usual, it’s a bunch of cranky old white people and looks like they had a low turnout. They got some internal politics going on in there that has fractured the group.
Howdy Gerbils!
Its a beautiful day, the ocean is warm and its the last work day before a glorious, much deserved 4 day weekend! Wheeeee! I’m off at 1:30pm. Life is good! I think we are going camping if we can get our “stuff’ together. Still trying to convince my honey to hook up the “Love Shack” to the truck, throw that boat in and head for teh river!
The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to, and she should pay attention to my voice, which she obviously doesn’t -- but these are tough issues, and I think they need to be brought out in the open, and everyone’s voice heard and listened to so we can get on with the business of managing this great country of ours.
I’m sorry that’s all the time we have for questions. Thank you.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Moar kawfee, kplz thx.

Schadenfreudeliciousness:
Per Alan Dershowitz, Lois Lerner is in a spot of bother.
So…does Issa have the stones to go for blood?

The problem with some Republicans is they seem to think that if they play nice, it will be reciprocated. It doesn’t appear to work that way.
You spelled stupid wrong!
Just checking in, thanks for your concern. The worst weather missed us as usual. I am always more concerned about our Rabbit.
Thanks much for checking-in, Mac. (And being Thread Lad as well.)
Hope we hear from RabBeet…
Glad you are OK, Mac, and hope your teeth are healing up nicely.

Hey Cali-nice to see you.
Any day is a good day when this President gets heckled.

Me, too! Well, 1:30:05pm.
The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to…unlike all you racist Fox-watching scandal-mongering Tea Baggers that tried to fool the IRS.

Bought this book for Mrs Sven: I Could Pee on This and Other Poems By Cats, by Francesco Marciuliano.
Sometimes when I lie on your warm chest
And hear your every happy sigh
I gaze into your two kind eyes
And wonder, “Who is that?”
Which captures the essence of Smelly Old Cat to a tee.
Tarnation-I had to reset my password.
No, we didn’t get any bad weather, just some clouds.
