Well, BW put windows 10 on my laptop & I guess it’s better, but I hate getting used to new things…
We got another insultingly low offer on TMP. Clearly, the people can’t afford the house & with their having an ultra low down payment & an FHA loan, the plan was to have us fix everything-which we are not. BW told Bob “NO”. He said he would tell the people that we “they need to be closer to the asking price”. But for us, there is no deal. Our contract with him is up on Jan. 5th. But then we have to wait another 60 days until we can.

I wasn’t through with my comment, but the computer was doing something odd.
Since last week, when BW turned down ZS’ request to keep WG out of jail, there has been radio silence. So while we don’t care if he went back in, we are curious. Ha! We have to go service the pool this morning, so I may call Sis. Last time she called BW, & didn’t get a callback. Last time that I called Sis, she didn’t call me back. She is usually reliable about returning my calls, unless she is up to something.
Hai, RabBeet! I’m keeping my fingers crossed (which makes my typing even carpier than usual -- hah!) that you get an enthusiastic buyer -- or two -- for TMP as a Christmas gift.

On the not-so-good front, they’ve just announced that all schools in LAUSD are being closed today. No reason given, but kids already at school are being sent home. This is going to mess up a lot of people, but speculation is that it is due to some type of credible threat.

I just caught the news conference, or the musical chairs they’re calling the news conference. “Telephonic threat to LAUSD”.
So … is it actually an abundance of caution (I can’t imagine there isn’t more than 1 phone call a DAY to LAUSD that isn’t threatening)? Another “clock” incident?
Paddy would know the numbers better than me, but they said 900 schools and over 640,000 students are in LAUSD. The closure notice came during the time when most of these kids would be in transit or already in school.
The school superintendent is calling for all schools to be thoroughly searched--my bet is that they won’t be doing that in one day.

It’s going to take a long time to get all of those kids picked up from all of those schools. It will be hard to contact some parents; some won’t be able to get to the school easily or quickly (think bus schedules and unsympathetic employers), and the disorganized mess of parents trying to prove their identity and claim their kid would be a perfect set-up for a device placed in the parking lot.

I just got back Sunday evening from Thanksgiving/Christmas in Boston with Cait and her mom. I refuse to travel on Thanksgiving and Christmas. As far as traveling for business? Not so much lately. In September I filed a 1A+ ($50m public offering registration statement) for an oil client with the SEC. This was a massive job. In October they, the SEC, sent a list of just 23 comments/questions. Since then I have been herding cats (the auditors, executives, oil reserve consultants, lawyers) to get this revision completed…maybe by Friday. My bill for this effort will be more than I made last year in total. So there’s that.

I expect to start sneezing any minute now. My daughter had a blonde moment and double booked herself so I had to save the day and babysit at a moments notice for the family down the street. 2 adorable little runny nosed boys! I got sneezed on no less than 20 times. After every sneeze, I went into the bathroom, washed down with the hottest water I could stand and sprayed myself with a cloud of lysol. Upon arriving home, I double dosed myself with EmergenC and chugged a Kombucha Gingerberry this morning.
I keep thinking, I’m going to be one crazy G-ma one day.
